As a fountain pen enthusiast, I would love to go to a pen show. Unfortunately, we don’t have a pen show in Las Vegas or anywhere in Nevada, so I created a brand identity for one if it ever existed. For this assignment, we were asked to build an identity using techniques we learned in class. In addition to the identity, we had to create three collateral items.
Project Experience:
To get a sense for the brand, I gathered and analyzed designs for existing pen shows and conventions in Las Vegas. I experimented first with how to incorporate fountain pen imagery with the Las Vegas sign. To be less cliche in representing Las Vegas, I focused instead on the star on the sign. Once the logo and standards were established, I moved on to branding applications.
