For this assignment, we were to design four icons of inspiring people in a career field of our choice and indexes of related items to match. I wanted to incorporate some visual elements of sheet music into the set.

Project Experience
The making of the icons was not too bad. I decided to lean more towards realistic than simplified. After analyzing the types of lines used in sheet music, I decided the set should be made with those lines. I had to be careful not to clutter the icons with too many lines. Originally, I wanted to include hatching to reference the staff (thin parallel lines), but it was going to make the set busier than it needed to be. I also had to consider line weight and where it would vary. This was easily the best part of the project because line art is important to my personal art style.

Project Outcome
Very happy with how the set turned out. The nods to sheet music are there without being too in-your-face. The signs, especially the icons, are detailed but not to the point where it hurts their functionality.
